Aims

To work with you and your family to preserve personal wealth, pay Uncle Sam only what you owe, protect your businesses, and help you grow your personal wealth and legacy.  Most often this requires collaborating and coordinating efforts with your other advisors, such as your attorneys, investment managers, counselors, parents, siblings, children, et al.  Together, we do this through measured strategies that account for potential tax issues, timing adjustments, meticulous planning and a thoughtfully designed estate plan.

Process

While transition can seem overwhelming, it is an investment in the future for you and your family.  My four-step approach can help bring structure and security to the process.

  • Meet and organize: Discuss goals, family and lifestyle. Uncover your tax events. Gather personal financial planning information and estate planning documentation.
  • Analyze: Review and evaluate various alternatives against goals. Review estate liquidity needs and tax ramifications. Model selected alternatives and prepare personalized reports to illustrate the results. Consider the effect of each alternative on the overall financial plan and objectives.
  • Implement: Discuss the reports and alternatives and finalize the wealth transfer plan. Coordinate recommendations with other advisors, as appropriate. Consult with you on the establishment or review of your family office. Provide insights on tax and administrative compliance related to the plan.
  • Monitor: Periodically review the plan and make adjustments based on changes to goals, financial situation and current or pending legislation.

I will do as much or as little as you want.

Background

With a philosophy rooted in collaboration and inclusivity, I am committed to fostering deep, enduring relationships grounded in shared values and a compelling vision for the future. My facilitation style blends intuitive insight with strategic planning, offering a presence that is both calming and motivating. I frequently guide families and their advisors through pivotal conversations on next-generation leadership, wealth education, and the seamless transition of assets across multiple generations.

I recently transitioned from my role as owner of a premier public accounting firm in Seattle, where I spent more than 20 years providing wealth advising and tax planning. Today, I’ve intentionally scaled back to a boutique practice, serving a select group of clients so I can focus more deeply on personalized tax guidance. My career began with a distinguished tenure at Arthur Andersen (now Andersen Tax), and while I’m still going strong, I’ve embraced a more balanced pace that allows me to give thoughtful, high-touch support to those I serve.  I hold an honors degree in accountancy from the University of South Florida and a master’s in taxation from Golden Gate University. I am also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
